In a creative, caring environment

Opened in 1957, the former Quetico Centre served the Northwestern Ontario area as a premier place of learning for many organizations including the mining and community care industries. It comprises 100 acres on 1 kilometre of shoreline on Eva Lake. It's 17 buildings include 3 residential buildings with single rooms for 96 guests, a conference centre, recreational centre (with fitness facilities, swimming pool, library, craft studio, lounges), dining hall, office building, several homes, power, water and sewage treatment plants, tennis courts action sports park and workshops.

After a 7 year hibernation, the renovated Centre will be re-opened as Quetico College School. It will emerge as an independent boarding school for grade 9 to 12 offering a full compliment of accredited courses. This will allow students to advance to higher education at Colleges and Universities. In addition to challenging and inspirational learning, the college will also take full advantage of the pristine location to offer a range of outdoor activities and will augment current facilities with challenging sports by erecting an action sports park building. Not only will it serve the needs of families in search of educational excellence in Northwestern Ontario but also families in other areas of Ontario seeking less urban areas for education.

The College will offer full boarding facilities for students including teacher- and peer- led mentoring, supervised accommodations, classes, meal service, recreational and sports programmes amidst a technologically savvy atmosphere.

“Imagine a sports and creative arts place like Camp Woodward, an outdoor expedition point like Camp Ahmek, a personal growth centre like Outward Bound all mixed together in a school with teachers who love where they are and what they do, and you get an idea of the vision”
