Preparation for life in the twenty-first Century using Project-Based Learning through engagement in rich and challenging academic content is our way to prepare students for a life of Passion, Dedication and Purpose. We incorporate the seven critical skills of education in all that we undertake:
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Collaboration across networks and leading by influence
- Agility and adaptability
- Initiative and entrepreneurship
- Effective oral and written communication
- Accessing and analyzing information
- Curiosity and imagination
Our classes are very small as our entire school population is only 30. This allows each and every student to be appropriately challenged and fully engaged in critical thinking and problem solving.
Part of each school year is spent with neighbouring businesses or organizations to extend research and communication opportunities and participate in adaptability.
Room To Explore
The large (100 acrea) campus offers a very diverse range of opportunities to discover and refine new interests. Play that leads to passion is not a haphazard experience: it is the base of what we fully encourage and promote.
Each student is assigned a mentor for their entire stay at our school. This person discusses daily with students to ensure they are meeting their goals and completing projects on schedule.
Every student at Quetico is expected to participate in our Duke of Edinburgh's Award Programme and achieve certification in Lifesaving, FIrst Aid, Coaching and Fitness.
