There's actually 3 types of boarding experiences at Quetico College School.
Superlative facilities for living, learning, making friends and gaining the experience of a lifetime include:
- Young students first concern will be: "Where can we go boarding?" We are the only Independent Secondary School in Canada with our own Action Sports Parks. One big one outdoors and a smaller one indoors. A new building (60' X 140') will be erected shortly to expand our indoor offerings to allow year round skateboarding and BMX. These opportunities are not just after-school activities: think of how a person's passion for a creative sport can be incorporated into project-based learning. And if the lake is still warm when school starts, you might like to explore wakeboarding on Eva Lake.
- The second type of boarding? Living on campus where evey student, grades 9 to 12, has their own room with private bath and shower. It becomes a personal retreat from the hustle and bustle of school life. A place to call your own and, within reason, demonstrate your personal preferences. Lots of desk space for your laptop and stereo: logging on to your favourite music source through our WiFi and playing tracks through your stereo provides an ideal backdrop for tackling your plans to change the world. (Head of School, Michael Heaton, listens to TripleJ (Australia) from dawn to dusk most days!)
- The third boarding is actually bordering: we are located on the border of Quetico Provincial Park, 450,000 hectares of wilderness where you will be able to connect to this unique canoe-tripping paradise and grow to understand why preserving wilderness areas is so important to Canada.
